THE OASIS OF HEALING BIBLE COLLEGE (OHBC)

The Oasis of Healing Bible College (OHBC) is a unique Pentecostal college with a balance between the theological and practical emphases of what it offers to its students in their preparation for ministry. The students are supposed to be born again and Spirit filled. OHBC offers a two year Diploma course in Theology. There are a total of 49 different subjects which are taught in English to enhance the students' language proficiency not just within Tanzania but also internationally. The 49 subjects are offered in 6 semesters during the period of two years. There are more than 120 credit hours which are covered in a Diploma course while a certificate covers over 60 credit hours. The lecturers of this college have a wide range of experience and proven ministries that have brought an impact to many people. Currently, the college does not offer boarding facilities for its students. Thus in the first term English course will be compulsory for every student so that they can improve their language both spoken and written. There will be further opportunities for the students to be taught English during the course.

The academic year will begin 7th of January 2012 with an intensive English course for one week. In the first term we shall have the following subjects: English, The Book of Romans, Major Prophets, Keys to Balanced Faith, Introduction to Computer (Microsoft word, how to access the internet), Understanding the anointing, Mentoring and Leadership. The lectures starts at 8:00am to 1:00pm from monday to friday.

FOUNDER OF OHBC: Apostle Prosper K. Ntepa is the founder of the OHBC. The Oasis of Healing Bible College started its training in January 2003 with 14 students. It was formerly called Restoration International Bible College (RIBC). 

SCHOOL FEES: The school fees for each term will be Tshs120,000/. Therefore the total annual fees for each academic year will be 360,000/ for three terms (120,000 x 3 terms). The fees can be paid in full or in installments of every term. The term fees must be paid before the course begins. The application fees is 5,000/ and must be paid before the prospective applicant takes the forms. A student must attend lessons for two years in order to be awarded a Diploma in Theology. A student who attends the course for one full year will be awarded a certificate. 

 
ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING AT OHBC

First, OHBC will equip students for ministry. Remember whoever God calls He prepares and equips. You will be equipped to become effective in what God has called you to do. Your life and ministry will never be the same when you finish your two years course at OHBC. You will be equipped to fulfill your God-ordained purpose and calling. 

Second, the college aims to help students to improve their English so that they can read and write in good English. As a result, the lecturers will be teaching in English and sometimes cod-switch to Swahili for the purpose of ensuring maximum understanding for the students. Moreover OHBC aims to aid students to be able to preach in English not only in Tanzania but also in other parts of the world without any problem. From our experience we have discovered many good Christian books are found in English. Hence a servant of God is supposed to have a good command of English in order to be efficient in his day to day activities. 

Third, the college aims to offer practical knowledge that can help you to be effective in your call and ministry. It offers subjects like Keys to Successful Ministry and Calling, Ministry of Healing, Balance Faith Life, Balanced Prosperity, Church Planting and Church Growth, etc. E.W. Kenyon comments on this in his book called ?The Hidden Man? that: ?I remember when 80% of the theological course was non-usable knowledge in actual ministry. That showed a lack of wisdom on the part of the instructors. It should have been 80% usable knowledge and 20% non-usable. It is a known fact that 80% of the knowledge that is accumulated in schools, colleges, reading and observation, is not used by the average person. We are not using more than 10% of our abilities and knowledge? (page 138). 

Due to this fact we have endeavoured to balance between the knowledge you can use in actual ministry and the unusable theological knowledge that will act as an asset in understanding and interpreting scriptures. 

Fourth, OHBC offers a theological knowledge that will make you to be balanced doctrinally in your ministry and teaching. We do offer subjects like Theology I, II and III to give students a wide knowledge on God, last days, doctrines of scriptures, doctrines of the church (ecclesiology), angelology (the study about angels), eschatology (study of the last days) and the like. 

Fifth, ministry requires a wide understanding and knowledge. In the ministry which you are going to do in the body of Christ you will meet different challenges which test your knowledge. For instance, a pastor will be forced to help Christians with different needs, which demands having a broad knowledge of the Word of God and an ordinary knowledge of day to day life. OHBC will equip you in counselling and prayers for those with divers needs. A servant of God is supposed to be knowledgeable. People will come to you with their various problems. 

Sixth, you will be equipped to conduct counselling, deliverance for those under demonic bondages and healing of the sick folks. Included in the syllabus are subjects like pastoral counselling and deliverance, ministry of healing, etc that will facilitate this ministry. Some of the problems you will be equipped to offer counselling include, marital problems, premarital counseling, helping people to choose their career, relationship conflicts, addictions, incurable diseases like AIDS, demonic bondages, family planning, how to choose the right partner, etc. 

Seventh, the Bible School will help you improve your ability to understand scriptures, interpret scriptures and your preaching skills. You will be exposed to exegetic (analyze deeply) the Word of God by studying some of the books of the Bible like Romans, Genesis, Revelation, Daniel, 1 Timothy, Titus, etc, verse to verse. Again you will study the Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey to give you an overview of the 66 books of the Bible. Moreover the study of hermeneutics (the art of interpreting scriptures) and art of preaching (homiletics) will be very interesting to the students.

Eighth, the Diploma course will enhance your reading culture to read different books. Many people do not have a habit of reading books, let alone the habit of buying books. As a result, they are deprived of the different advantages they can get by reading books. 

Ninth, you will learn some keys to be successful in ministry. You will learn on the importance of character as a means of sustaining your ministry. Moreover you will learn on how to know your God-given purpose and gift. You will be exposed to the secret of the anointing and how to release it on your life. 

Indeed there are many advantages of OHBC. The above-mentioned advantages are only a few of what you will benefit from it. Get ready for a wonderful time you will spend at this college. Indeed your life and ministry will never be the same. Preparation for ministry is more important than actual ministry because you can effectively do what you are equipped for! We see three things in the disciples of Jesus Christ. ?And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, 15and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons? (Mark 3:13-15). First, we learn that Jesus called his disciples. Second, we learn that the disciples were prepared for ministry by been with Jesus the Word. They were with Jesus for three and half years. They were under Jesus' mobile Bible School of the Word. Third, the disciples were sent out to preach and to do the works of Jesus like healing the sick, casting out demons and performing miracles. 

LIBRARY: The college offers library services with a variety of books for studying and reference. Students will have access to borrow some books from the library. Other books will only be used within the college premises. Students will be required to abide by the rules of the library. Any student who loses a book will be required to refund it. 

LOCATION: OHBC is located at the offices of The Oasis of Healing Ministries (OHM) behind Ubungo Plaza adjacent to Anglican Church and Ubungo National Housing Primary School.
